Curriculum Intent

Our vision at Barnham Broom is to enable the children to reach for the stars and let their light shine. We create a learning environment in which children, and adults, are inspired to serve, believe and grow. We believe that physical education encourages children to live healthier lifestyles and that it benefits academic progress, unlocking the potential of every child.

When children leave Barnham Broom, they will have developed an understanding of the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, taking care of themselves and be able to apply this in their lives.

Access and Inclusion

At Barnham Broom CofE VA Primary School we recognise the fact that we have pupils of differing ability in all our classes, and so we provide suitable learning opportunities for all pupils by matching the challenge of the task to the ability of the child. We achieve this through a range of strategies:

• Setting common activities and challenges which are opened ended allowing for a variety of responses

• Providing a variety of resources and equipment to support children in their movement

• Using additional adults to support the work of individual pupils or small groups
