'Reaching For The Stars'

Trusting, Believing, Growing.

Welcome back to the new school year.
We are very excited about the new term in school and we are really looking forward to the new topics we will be studying; lots of new, exciting and engaging things to learn and new people in our school family to share our learning with. Welcome back to the Autumn Term.

Message from the Headteacher
On behalf of the children, staff and Governors I would like to say welcome to the Barnham Broom Church of England VA Primary School website.

Our School is a lovely, well-equipped school, situated in the beautiful village of Barnham Broom, nestled between Norwich and Wymondham. Our school has been extended over the years and we are proud to maintain many of the original parts of the school.  We have strong links with our local church St Peter's and St Pauls and are well supported by our local community.

Our philosophy is to enable every child to learn to the best of their ability; to achieve their full potential and to attain high academic standards. With our vision 'Reach for the Stars'  we strive to create an environment where the children’s self-esteem and respect for themselves and others can develop to the full; where we support each other to do our very best and where we celebrate our special qualities and individuality.

We pride ourselves on our strong Christian values and ethos; we believe that everyone is an amazing, unique individual and we welcome, care for and support all in our school and wider community.

Barnham Broom is part of the Wymondham Cluster of schools and our children feed into the Wymondham, Norwich, Dereham and Attleborough Secondary/High Schools.

 Welcome to our school.
Mrs Heather Benson. Headteacher

SIAMS Inspection

The purposes of SIAMS inspection are:

· To provide an evaluation of the distinctiveness and effectiveness of the church school for the governing body, the school, the parents, the diocese/district, the National Society or Methodist Church and the wider public

· To meet the requirements of Section 48 of the Education Act 2005 for schools which have a religious character

· To verify the outcome of the school’s self-evaluation

· To make a significant contribution to improvement in Church schools.

SIAMS inspections focus on the effect that the Christian character of the church school has on the learner.

The Inspector Mr Stephen Green was with us for just one day and was tasked with investigating and evaluating the distinctiveness and effectiveness of the school as a  Church school.  Here are some of his findings:

“The school, through its distinctive Christian character, is outstanding at meeting the needs of all learners.”

“The school is very effective at translating its Christian values into spiritual, moral, social and cultural education.  As a result behaviour is excellent and pupils are well behaved.”

“Relationships within the school community are of a very high standard and clearly reflect the school’s Christian ethos”

“Collective worship, the school’s ethos and its Christian values have led to a very high level of spirituality amongst the pupils.”
