SIAMS Church School Inspection - February 2020

Message from the Headteacher

On behalf of the children, staff and Governors at Barnham Broom Church of England VA Primary School, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our school website.  We hope our website provides you with an insight into our delightful school.

Barnham Broom C of E VA Primary School is a lovely, well-equipped school, situated in the beautiful village of Barnham Broom; nestled between Norwich, Wymondham and Dereham.  Our school has been extended over the years and we are proud to maintain many of the original, historic parts of the school.  We have strong links with our local church, St Peter's and St Paul's in Barnham Broom, and are well supported by our local community.  Our philosophy is to enable every child to learn to the best of their ability: to achieve their full potential and to attain high academic standards.

With our vision 'Reaching For The Stars - Let Your Light Shine - Serving, Believing, Growing' we strive to create an environment where the children’s self-esteem and respect for others and themselves, can develop to the full; where we support each other to do our very best and where we celebrate our special qualities and our individuality.  We pride ourselves on our strong Christian values and ethos; we believe that everyone is an amazing, unique individual and we welcome, care for, serve and support all in our school, in the local and the wider community.

Through our curriculum we develop a love of learning; we encourage inquisitiveness, creativity and imagination.  Our children are supported to become life-long learners with independence determination and perseverance.  They learn how to communicate effectively and collaborate with each other.

Reading is an intrinsic part of our broad and balanced curriculum and it is vital that all children leave our school as confident readers.

Barnham Broom C of E VA Primary School works closely with the Wymondham Cluster of schools and other schools in our area: our children feed predominantly into the Wymondham, Norwich and Dereham High Schools.

Welcome to our school.

Mrs Heather Benson, Headteacher
