Our Uniform Policy

Our school uniform is navy blue and grey as the predominant colours.

A school uniform looks smart and contributes to a sense of belonging and community. It enables children to feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance and fosters a feeling of pride. We ask that all children wear the uniform and encourage them to maintain a good standard of clean and tidy dress in school.

The uniform is designed to be practical, maintainable and good value for money. Our uniform is designed with health, safety and wellbeing in mind. There is no necessity to purchase school embroidered polo shirts/printed PE t-shirts. Plain supermarket versions in the same colour are entirely acceptable. We do suggest purchasing one embroidered polo shirt and one printed PE T-shirt as this can be useful to help identify on school trips and when representing the school.

Parents are asked to ensure that all items are labelled clearly with their child's name.

For health reasons it is important that children are properly dressed for physical activity. PE kit should be kept in a named bag.

School Uniform

Navy sweatshirt or cardigan with the school logo.

White polo shirt with school logo for representing school. A plain white polo shirt can be worn for normal sessions.

Grey skirt/pinafore/trousers/shorts/skort. A blue gingham dress can be worn when the weather is warm enough.

Grey/navy tights or grey/white socks.

Shoes: Black, plain, sensible enclosed school shoes or school boots with a low or flat heel. (There should be no tassels or other decorations). No trainer style shoes or fashion boots and no sandals.

PE Kit

Indoor PE Kit

Navy blue/black shorts/skort.

School PE t-shirt with logo for representing the school; a plain blue t-shirt can be worn for normal PE sessions.

Plimsolls/trainers.

Outdoor PE Kit

As indoor kit, plus:

Plain navy/black tracksuit bottoms and top — no motifs.

Trainers.

Hair, Jewellery & Make-up

Hair

Neat and tidy.

No extreme styles (including part or all shaved, words or patterns, colours).

Long hair should be tied back for safety and to reduce transference of head lice.

Fashion braids are not permitted.

Jewellery

Sensible well-fitting watches (not bangle type) can be worn to help children tell the time. The school takes no responsibility for these items if they are lost, damaged or broken. Watches must be removed for PE.

Necklaces, bracelets (including friendship bracelets and rubber charity bands) or rings are not permitted.

If earrings need to be worn, they should be plain stud earrings. The school takes no responsibility for these items if they are lost, damaged or broken. Earrings must be removed for PE by the child; a member of staff is not permitted to remove earrings or put them back in.

If a specific item needs to be worn for religious observance or a medical reason please come into school to discuss with the Headteacher.

Make-up

No make-up, including nail varnish or temporary tattoos/other body art, is permitted. (If this is for a specific religious observance please come into school to discuss with the Headteacher.)
